Appraisal Criteria

The below list are picture requirements for proper appraisal with insurance upgrades and remote appraisals. Double click the DOCX box below for a word doc version of the requirements.

Pictures Required for vehicle evaluation:

1. Please have the car cleaned, vacuumed and washed. If need be, have it looking at its best as if you would want to sell it.
2. Front and rear of the car, showing all lights. Step back so that the angle of the picture shows well. This might be done in the driveway, outdoors and not inside.
3. Both sides of the car. Show complete front to rear.
4. Engine hood up. Take at least 3 pictures. Stand at the front looking into the engine bay and take a picture on the left, center and right.
5. All doors should be open showing the interior door panels.
6. Carpet. Please have it vacuumed and free of any debris.
7. Open the trunk and remove everything other than the spare tire and tools. Clean out any non-essential items.
8. All door jams (especially any metal tags with numbers on them) That is the area between the door and the body. Usually a cruddy area. Clean as best you can. Picture of the dash to include odometer reading, radio, A/C heater controls. Open the glove compartment (box) clean it out of all non-essential items. If you still have the
original manuals, please take pictures of all the maintenance pages with their dealership stamps.
9. Front and rear seats showing any wear conditions.
10. Roof, hood, fenders, bumpers for any paint or chrome damages for any paint
delamination or damage.
11. Please note any rusty areas. Sometimes they appear as paint bubbles.
12. Picture of the title (primarily interested in the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) so I can provide a VIN decode. This also confirms ownership.
13. Current registration card showing your current address.
14. When submitting for an insurance upgrade it is important to show how you care for the car. Some insurance companies will not insure if the vehicle isn’t stored in a garage.
